Civil Engineering Technologist

Job Description:

  • Preparation of engineering design drawings in Civil 3D

  • Assist in the production of engineering designs/calculations, modeling, specifications, cost estimates and tender documents for utility and coastal infrastructure projects

  • Support construction inspection and construction contract documentation

  • Support field work as required

Education:

Possesses a civil engineering technology diploma, computer-aided design and drafting diploma, or similar degree or combination of skills and experience.

Core Competencies:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in engineering, environmental consulting, civil infrastructure construction, or equivalent

  • Proficient with AutoCAD Civil 3D

  • Registration as an A.Sc.T or other technical accreditation is an asset

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Proven time-management skills to meet deadlines

  • Ability to work in the field with limited direction

  • Works well independently or as part of a team

  • Drivers Licence

Beneficial Skills/Experience

  • Training / experience related to utilities, wastewater systems (municipal or industrial), pipelines, marine civil engineering, or marine construction

  • Land surveying or/or hydrographic (bathymetric) surveying

  • Experience using GIS software

  • Familiarity of BC and federal environmental legislation related to pollution management and aquatic habitats

  • Experience/training related to working on boats or diving

  • Marine Tickets (SVOP, MEDA3, ROC-M)

  • OHS Level 1 First Aid

  • Experience with drones &/or ROV’s
