
Job Description:
Collaboratively work and communicate with colleagues and clients to deliver excellent customer service.
Coordinate and assist preparing engineering plans and designs.
Support the production of calculations, engineering reports, drawings, and specifications.
Support the preparation of technical reports including but not limited to feasibility studies, design reports, technical memos, and construction reports.
Adhere to budgets, schedules and quality assurance processes.
Conduct field work, site visits, and review construction as required.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, with specialization in a field that allows professional practice in civil engineering design, or similar related education.
Core Competencies:
EIT, eligible for registration with EGBC as an Engineer in Training or be an existing Engineer-in Training registered in British Columbia.
Experience in municipal, land development, marine and/or industrial infrastructure.
Good understanding of design guidelines, codes and standards, and construction documents.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Demonstrated strong oral and written English language communications skills, including but not limited to reports and presentations.
Proven time-management skills to meet deadlines.
Ability to work in the field with limited direction.
Works well independently or as part of a team.
Commitment to ongoing personal and professional development.
Willingness to travel for project work, as needed.
Valid Class 5 Drivers Licence.
Beneficial Skills/Experience
Drafting in AutoCAD Civil 3D software.
Training / experience related to utilities, water treatment (municipal or industrial), pipelines, or marine construction.
Land surveying and/or hydrographic (bathymetric) surveying.
An aptitude for civil/mechanical systems.
Hydrologic or hydraulic models.
Previous experience in consulting is preferred.
MMCD Contract Administration training/certification is a benefit.
Familiarity with BC and federal environmental legislation related to pollution management and aquatic habitats.
Experience/training related to working on boats.
Marine Certifications (SVOP, MEDA3, ROC-M).
OHS Level 1 First Aid.
